ScioSphere release 2.1 is now available

New ScioSphere Patent & Research Analysis Tool Improves Bottom Line Web-based tool from SapioSystems reduces an analyst?s research time by a factor of 20-40 and significantly improves search accuracy.

Copenhagen, Denmark (January 2, 2008) ? SapioSystems is proud to announce the release of version 2.1 of its ScioSphere power tool for Patent & Research analysis, which reduces the amount of tedious, manual work that is associated with manually skimming and reading through thousands of patent or research papers.

ScioSphere® is an online analytical tool that makes it possible for you to analyze hundreds or even thousands of documents simultaneously. ScioSphere provides a unique, optimized workflow for analyzing texts, enabling you to quickly identify what is relevant knowledge and what is trivial information.

This new release extends the tool?s Concept knowledge capability, which now includes more than 150,000 concepts and more than 300,000 synonyms from life science and other industries. Concept knowledge is used to identify the relevant portion of documents, thereby eliminating trivial information and saving the analyst a tremendous amount of time in completing the task at hand. ScioSphere takes over where the search engines end ? whether it?s the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, esp@cenet, or even a regular Google search ? and quickly examines thousands of documents to find the relevant 20-30 documents requiring further examination. This automated process improves the accuracy of the search, thereby saving the analyst?s time and the employer?s money.

What makes ScioSphere unique is the patented Factspace matrix that quickly finds how concepts correlate to each other in sentences. The correlation is done in real time, making it fast and easy for the analyst to add and correlate new concepts. The Factspace matrix tracks the progress to enable the analyst to examine all hits for more accurate research. The analyst can annotate each sentence and create a complete report within ScioSphere. Also new in this release is the ability to export and share results, making ScioSphere particularly suitable for collaboration within or between departments.

When an analysis has to be repeated because of the availability of new information, ScioSphere allows easy upload of the new documents. The FactSpace matrix keeps track of the information that has already been processed and what is new, simplifying the analyst?s workload.

?What ScioSphere delivers to the Life Science/Pharmaceutical industry, whether it is patent or scientific research, is a tool that speeds up the tedious and manual search and evaluation process of traditional searches. Within our customer base we typically see an increase in productivity by a factor of 20-40 and with more accurate results, making the return on investment a matter of weeks not years,? said Thomas Eskebaek, President of Sapio Systems.

ScioSphere is a Web-based tool and works in any environment where a Web browser is available.
